IOC chair Lomas running in a shirt and Carmen transport livery tie in the London Marathon Sunday, April 21st. He attended registration at London Excel, met the Rhino and checked for courier names on the wall of fifty thousand entrants to this year's London Marathon. He is asking you to donate a pound a mile, a twenty-six-pound gift for the marathon distance via Just Giving page to the transport charity, Transaid, patron HRH the Princess Anne.

Lomas has been training around the City and focused on the Thames path routes to Greenwich, pushing many of the miles in the Blighty new year rain showers while wearing his favourite IOC transport high vis. There is a tea break planned, stopping at the church of the Carmen transport livery at All Hallows by the Tower, Curate, Vicar Jen Midgley is set to welcome Lomas with a slice of Victoria sponge cake as the marathon route goes past the church door around twenty miles into the run. IOC CEO Dr Tracey Worth comments, ‘not sure how the cake will affect the finish time but All Hallows makes for a great place to network and natter, cheer and wave around five pm at tea time.

Lomas has completed a UK coast-to-coast and two London to Paris cycle rides, going solo in 2022 for Transaid. On all occasions visiting an array of courier depots en-route.

Caroline Barber, explained the quarter century of Transaid, ‘A seventeen per-cent increase in road accident deaths in Africa. We strengthen supply chains and mobile ambulance for maternal and newborn in rural areas.’ ‘We are always amazed to see Carl in his transport tie at these events.’
